Hammar H20R is a hydrostatic release unit designed to accommodate life rafts of all shapes and sizes. Constructed from reinforced nylon and fiberglass, it boasts corrosion resistance. The Hammar H20 requires no annual servicing, maintenance, or spare parts. Simply install a new unit every two years and dispose of the old one. With environmental sustainability in mind, the old unit is 97% recyclable.
The sturdy white rope of the Hammar H20 is attached to the deck or cradle of the life raft and secured to the life raft's lashings with a sliding hook. In the event of a ship sinking, water pressure will activate the sharp knife within 4 meters, cutting the rope and allowing the life raft to float freely. As the ship descends, the life raft's line will extend, initiating inflation. The Red Weak Link™ breaks, enabling survivors to safely board the floating life raft.
